Your Coffee at a Glance: Beanstats Widgets
You track your beans, log your brews, and dial in your recipes inside Beanstats. But what about the moments when you just want a quick peek at your inventory or a one-tap shortcut to log a shot? That’s where widgets come in.
Beanstats now ships with 5 widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen, giving you instant access to the data you care about most — without opening the app.
Coffee Inventory
Keep an eye on your stash. The Inventory widget shows your total bean weight and how many active bags you have.
In the medium size it goes further: a “Best Beans” section highlights your top 3 highest-rated active beans with name, roaster, and star rating — a quick reminder of what to brew next.
On the Lock Screen, you get a compact coffee bean icon with your total weight, available in circular, rectangular, and inline formats.
Last Brew
See what you brewed last and how long ago. The widget shows the bean name, your star rating (with half-star precision), and the coffee weight used. The relative timestamp (e.g., “2h ago”) updates every 15 minutes, so you always know how fresh your last cup is.
A Lock Screen version keeps it compact with just the relative time.
Quick Log
The simplest widget, and maybe the most useful. A single tap opens the brew form in Beanstats — no navigating, no searching.
Available as a small Home Screen widget with a “+” icon and “Log Brew” label, or as a minimal circular Lock Screen button. It’s perfect for those mornings when your coffee routine should be as effortless as possible.
Freeze Stats
If you freeze beans for later, this widget keeps your frozen inventory visible: total frozen weight, number of freeze entries, and your oldest freeze with its tag and age (e.g., “ABC12 — 14 days”).
The Lock Screen version shows frozen weight with a snowflake icon. If you don’t use the freeze feature, you can hide this widget from Settings.
Brew Activity
A GitHub-style heatmap of your brewing activity over the past 26 weeks. Each cell represents a day, colored by brew count across 5 intensity levels. It’s a satisfying visual record of your coffee habit — and a subtle nudge on the quiet days.
This one is medium-sized only and refreshes daily at midnight.
