Pressure Sensor Integration
Beanstats integrates with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) pressure sensors for real-time pressure readings during espresso extraction. A pressure sensor can be used alongside a connected scale for simultaneous weight and pressure tracking.

| Battery level | ✓ |
Pairing Your Sensor
You can pair multiple pressure sensors with Beanstats, though only one can be connected at a time.
- Navigate to Settings > Pressure Sensor
- Ensure your sensor is powered on and in range
- Tap Scan for Sensors
- When your sensor appears, tap Pair
- The sensor is now saved and will auto-connect when detected
Auto-Connect
By default, paired sensors will automatically connect when Beanstats detects them. You can toggle auto-connect per sensor in the settings.
Settings View
The pressure sensor settings show:
- Live pressure reading from connected sensor
- Battery level display
- List of paired sensors
- Add/remove sensors
- Auto-connect toggle
Live Brewing Display
When a pressure sensor is connected during brewing, real-time pressure data appears in the timer overlay:
With Scale Connected
Pressure readings are displayed alongside weight and flow rate data:
- Current pressure value with progress bar and peak indicator
- Orange pressure line overlaid on the weight chart
Without Scale (Pressure Only)
When only a pressure sensor is connected (no scale), a dedicated pressure card is shown:
- Pressure readout with gauge icon, value, progress bar, and peak
- Pressure-over-time chart
Chart Integration
During Brewing
| Layout | Pressure Display |
|---|---|
| iPhone portrait (scale + pressure) | Live readout (value, bar, peak) + orange line on weight chart |
| iPhone portrait (pressure only) | Dedicated pressure card with pressure-over-time chart |
| iPad landscape | Orange line on charts + current/peak values |
Saved Brew Charts
On saved brew detail views:
- Orange pressure line overlaid on the weight/flow chart
- Peak pressure shown in chart legend
- Smoothed data using moving average for clean curves
Data Storage
Pressure samples are recorded alongside weight data during brewing. When a brew is saved, the pressure profile is preserved and can be viewed on the brew detail chart. Pressure data is also included in exports when flow data is enabled.
